Dima Ustinov

An electronic musician with a 20-year history rediscovers the instrument of his childhood. 

Dima Ustinov's new album 9 pieces for augmented piano. Developing new approaches to interaction with the instrument, the musician came up with the concept of augmented piano - a special sound system built around any piano or grand piano using a set of electronic devices. 
Each of the album's nine pieces is linked to a particular story from the musician's life, but the listener does not need to know it - the electronic piano compositions will prompt his own memory work, building an autobiographical narrative for each person. 
Just as any space with a piano can be a refuge from adversity for Dima Ustinov, so his album broadcasts a sense of peace and security. Whatever dramas unfold along the way from the beginning to the last track, there is a calming sense of coming home in the finale.
