I just finished "Burning Daylight" pdf epub mobi download by Emily McIntire, and wow, what a ride! This book is a modern-day Romeo and Juliet story, but with a twist that gives it a hopeful and satisfying happily ever after. The setting of Rosebrook Falls—a small town full of family secrets, rivalry, and intense drama—really adds a moody, soap-opera vibe that makes the whole story feel charged with tension and emotion. 

 

I loved the characters, especially Juliette and Roman. Juliette, coming from a family that polished her to perfection but felt suffocating, and Roman, the secret heir to a rival family empire, have this incredible chemistry that's all about banter, forbidden love, and messy emotions. Their push-and-pull dynamic kept me hooked throughout. Roman’s flirtiness and unwavering devotion were such a highlight—he’s the kind of hero who loves hard and fights for what he wants, which absolutely melted me. 

 

The story has everything you could want in a romance: slow-building attraction, secret meetings, family drama, and plenty of angst. What I appreciated most was how it balanced all this with humor and heart, making it not just a story about love but about choosing to rewrite your fate despite the odds stacked against you. The nods to the original Shakespeare play were clever without being cheesy, which I thought was really well done. 

 

If someone told me a retelling of Romeo and Juliet could become one of my favorite contemporary reads, I wouldn’t have believed them before this book. Emily McIntire nailed it—it's romantic, intense, and full of those messy, beautiful moments that make love stories so addictive. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of the series to see what other tragic love stories in Rosebrook Falls she unfolds. This pdf epub book left me with butterflies and a serious book hangover in the best way.
