‘Mercurial Influx’ is the first extended play from Vienna-based producer
and visual artist Sherwin Ahmadi, under his new moniker Alith Berndarn.
The record symbolises the union of his musical influences: From the mesmerizing chord progressions of Dusk which are influenced by the aural output of London-
based James Blake to the engulfing and rhythmic percussions from Separate Ways which is an ode to the cynosures crafted by Cornwall-native Tourist.
Consisting of a total of 6 tracks, the perpetual and electric harmonies that have
been implemented in each of the tracks, do amend the dynamics from second to
second.
This powerful musical and cultural hybrid results in an electronic sound that is
unique yet familiar, mysterious yet intimate.
Born inside a multi-cultural environment, Alith came in touch with the realm of
electronic music & its endless possibilities of stimulating emotions. The artist tends
to experiment in the spheres of Electronica & Alt. Pop. He, then, merges the
amalgamation with elements of Ambient and UK Bass to craft a sound that portrays his interpretation of nowadays’ music.
‘Mercurial Influx’ is the epitome of the conveyed motions. With the announcement
of this record, the artist wants to mark the beginning of an aural itinerary, exploring
the endless possibilities to amass sonic textures and form them to rhythmic
patterns.
In his own words: ‘...The Mercurial Influx EP represents a melodic journey of
several weeks and months that was triggered by a key moment in life. It epitomizes
that nothing nowadays can be seen as granted and perpetual. With this thought
branded in my mind, I was liberated and felt the amazing energy that was around
me to make this record reality. It’s my most consistent body to work to date in
terms of style and mood. Yet, this feels just like the beginning.’
