The first solo EP of drummer Alexander Seleznev is a fascinating mix of jazz improvisations, broken drum grooves, hip-hop / R&B vocals and ambient electronic sound.
Music written by a drummers is always something extraordinary. The same is true in this case. The Ukrainian drummer Alexander Seleznov, who has a huge aground experience of playing with artists of various styles, brought a little bit of each to his music. There are jazz improvisations, atmospheric, European electronic-ambient sound, hip-hop / R&B vocals, a bit of Ukrainian ethnic percussion and this is all woven into the outline of broken-beat, live drum grooves. When you listening to music, you’ll defiantly hear the influence of artists such as Richard Spaven, Jojo Mayer, Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta and others. Top Ukrainian musicians took part in the album: Orest Filipov (saxophone in the track “No More Wars” and flutes in the track “Deep Dream”), Vladimir Lebedev (saxophone in the track “Freedom”), Alexey Nesterenko (bass in the track “Freedom” ), and also, the best hip-hop / rap artist of Ukraine - J Scope participated in the creation of the track “Freedom”.
All compositions were arranged by the famous sound producer, artist of Trippy Code Records - Nikita Schur (Rafthouse). The album was recorded at the “Kaska Records studio”, Kiev, and mixed & mastered by great Slava Shevchenko.
