Called a “genre-defying artist,” Marina blends modern art and ambient, progressive rock and academic guitar, funky energy and meditative stillness. Her compositions often trace emotional arcs — from numbness to catharsis, from anxiety to release.
Her work has drawn praise from artists such as Rick Beato, Tosin Abasi, Sean Lennon, Mike Dawes, and André Stern — support that she deeply values on her path as an independent musician.
Marina’s musical journey began at age 11 with classical guitar, opening the gates to sound and form. By 15 she was immersed in ‘70s rock, switching to electric guitar and then bass. After playing in her first rock band, she chose to build a strong foundation in music theory and performance, completing her classical education at the Maimonides State Classical Academy in 2019.
In 2014, Marina launched her solo project “Marina’s Decacorde,” named after the rare 10-string classical guitar that became its centerpiece. Four instrumental albums and several singles followed, along with performances at venues such as the Moscow International House of Music, Tsaritsyno Concert Hall, the Gnesin Academy, and Alexey Kozlov Club.
In 2024, the project took a bold new turn — an electric 10-string guitar custom-built for her, and the release of the first electric single, “Magnolia.” The track blends ambient atmospheres with elements of prog-rock, creating a soundscape that is both meditative and dynamic.
Her music has also been featured in the online book presentations of psychologist and composer André Stern — moments where music and meaning meet.
The project is fully independent. Every album has been released through crowdfunding and the loyal support of her listeners — not just love, but trust.
