Pivnoy Cowboy

One-man band from Moscow, Russia 

Pivnoy Cowboy started in November 2019 as a solo project of Moscow-born multi-instrumentalist Vet (Vitalii Zimin). Finding himself in one of the Dutch forests, he recorded a demo album using the built-in laptop microphone. The only instrument used on that record was the ukulele bought at the second hand store in Utrecht. In March 2020, during a period of self-isolation, Vet decided to continue working on the project. Inspired by 8-bit games soundtracks, late 90s & early 00s emotional indie rock, Soviet rock and modern post-punk, Vet recorded the album called “Impossibilism”, consisting of 8 immersive tracks. This time the range of instruments has expanded to several analog synthesizers, baritone and bass guitars, sampled drums and a variety of live percussions. Pivnoy Cowboy's lyrics are full of metaphors and other artistic tricks. Mixing and mastering made by Northern Lite’s guitarist Frithjof Rödel at Atomino Studio, Erfurt. “Impossibilism” will be released in September 2020 via Geertruida (NL) and Handshake Records (China).
