I've been dreaming about my own studio album for 15 years. There were many attempts, but my inherent perfectionism, along with a lack of experience, prevented me from fulfilling this dream. Things started to move forward in 2017, when I started collaborating with guitarist and music producer Igor Muller. I must say, everything was not easy here either. Infected with enthusiasm, we started working at a high pace, we had expectations that the album would be completed in just a year. The folder with the materials was called "Boris Plotnikov album 2018", today we often joke about it. At some point, the work stopped: the pandemic and personal crises prevented it, but most importantly, we both felt that something was missing. Initially, the idea was that the two of us write all the music, and the rhythm section and guest musicians just help us bring these ideas to life. Suddenly, an epiphany came: we don't need session musicians, we need a full-fledged band. A team in which all participants will be able to realize their creative ideas on equal terms. The candidacy of the bass guitarist did not cause any controversy - we immediately invited Anatoly Smirnov to help us, and he kindly agreed. But we were looking up for a drummer for a long time, and finally invited Elizaveta Volkova to the band. And that's where it started. In 2022-2023, we set up a rehearsal process, and at the end of 2023 we went to the studio. The album was completely completed within a year, but of course, it was not without special guests. We invited amazing vocalists and instrumentalists, stars of the Russian and international scene to participate in the album. And one song, we hope, will surprise many. After all, in it we recorded two legends of the Russian blues-rock scene face to face. And they even filmed it on video!
Thanks to an extremely democratic and even freedom-loving approach to creativity, the album turned out to be truly colorful. It contains unexpected versions of legendary songs, originals, and, of course, our vision of very rare songs, undeservedly deprived of attention.
