About this ebook
It was inspired by the real events that happened in the country during Christmas 2020, when Santa was officially banned because of his white beard and red coat — a combination of colours now strictly forbidden by the dictator (white-red-white flag was the flag of free Belarus).
In the fairy tale, the people in black hunting for those dressed as Santa
come across the real Santa – and they soon find the tables are turned. There is no need for a struggle in the story. All the good needs to do is to shine its light, no matter what.
This fairy tale is for anyone who is ready to open their heart to a
simple truth: presents are not something you need to deserve — they
are there, waiting to be appreciated, if only you take the time to stop
and see.

Natalka Kharytaniuk is a writer and a teacher of English from Belarus. Her first book «Thirteen stories about a dead cat», 2010, got the first prize of Maksim Bahdanovich Debut Award, her novel «Death of a lesbian», 2013, got long-listed for Jerzy Giedroyc Award, and her book for children «Tales of the old Adamkova», 2018, got into the short-list of Ciotka Award.

Lizaveta Hancharova is a digital illustrator, a mentor in illustration, and an Instagram blogger from Belarus.
She took the second prize in a sticker competition by Viber, 2019, taught at school of illustration Draw&Save with the Apple Store in Belarus. In 2019, Liza created a clip for the song «Hravitacyja» by Lavon Volski. In 2020, she drew a book «Belarusian Language Speakers» together with a cultural platform «Art-Siadziba». In 2019-2021, she created 3 cycles of digital education courses and workshops at iPad.
